The JUNO Awards Add Billy Talent, July Talk, Dallas Smith To Performance Lineup

The JUNO Awards fortified the lineup of performers at the April 2 ceremony by announcing Thursday (Mar. 16) that punk rockers Billy Talent, indie rockers July Talk and B.C.-based country singer Dallas Smith will be performing at the awards.

They join previously announced performers Sarah McLachlan – who will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the awards – and alt-rockers the Arkells. Also performing will be A Tribe Called Red, pop singer Alessia Cara, contemporary storyteller Ruth B, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes and alt-folk indie group The Strumbellas.

It was also announced that the broadcast would extend its run-time to two and a half hours, an extra half hour than normal. This is the first time the the JUNOs have lengthened the ceremony in five years.

Last week, it was announced that singer Bryan Adams and comedian Russell Peters would be replacing Michael Bublé as host, after he pulled out to take care of his three-year-old, who is battling cancer.
