Trisha Yearwood is taking on Sinatra.
The country star recently announced that she is releasing an album of standards, Let’s Be Frank. Her first studio album in a decade, it will be available Feb. 14.
Yearwood recently explained on Trisha’s Coffee Talk on Facebook that she recorded the collection live with a 55-piece orchestra at the iconic Capitol Records building in Hollywood, using Sinatra’s microphone.
“I’ve done some standards over the years in my shows and this is a record I’ve been wanting to make for 20 years,” she explained. “This was a good time when I got off the road and started working on a regular album, I also wanted to do this. This was just an incredible project and I had so much fun.”
Yearwood, who has been busy touring with husband Garth Brooks, promised fans she’s got more new music coming.
“Enjoy this for a few months because there is more coming, that’s all I’m saying. This is just a taste,” she said. “This is just the standards record, that’s all I’m going to say."
