Troye Sivan has been included on Out magazine’s annual Power 50 List, which ranks the most influential LGBT people.
Appearing at No. 20 on the 2018 list, the 23-year-old pop star is in the company of heavyweights from the world of business (Apple CEO Tim Cook), entertainment (Ellen DeGeneres) and media (Anderson Cooper).
“He’s achieved mass appeal without compromising his identity,” Out said of Sivan. “And he's parlayed his success into fashion and film.” (In fact, Sivan was an actor – his credits include 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine – before he was a singer.)
Also making the cut this year is singer Hayley Kiyoko, who released her debut album, toured with Panic! At The Disco and earned a pair of MTV Video Music Award nominations. Kiyoko is ranked No. 47 on the list.
At No. 29 is songwriter Justin Tranter, who has helped write hits for artists like Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Imagine Dragons and BeBe Rexha. “He’s already left an indelible mark on the industry,” Out noted.
