Cher teams up with Future in a new commercial for Gap.
The 71-year-old music legend and 33-year-old rap star put their twist on the Sly & the Family Stone classic “Everyday People” in the 30-second ad.
It was directed by Toronto’s Director X (aka Julien Lutz), whose long list of credits include Drake’s “Hotline Bling” and Rihanna’s “Work.”
According to the clothing retailer, Cher and Future had not met prior to showing up for the shoot in Long Beach, California — which worked out because the campaign is about bringing people together.
The choice of song is surely no coincidence. “Everyday People” was released in 1969, the same year Gap was founded.
The commercial featuring Cher and Future will run for at least six weeks online and on television.
