WATCH: Harry Styles Belts Out Nirvana In Tokyo Bar

The excruciating absence of Harry Styles’ voice hitting our ossicles came to an end last weekend when a clip surfaced online of the British singer belting out Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

The 24-year-old and his luscious locks have taken time away from the spotlight since wrapping up a world tour last summer in Los Angeles, so the 13-second clip provided proof-of-life for fans.

Styles was at Tokyo’s Gigabar, where patrons can sing karaoke and jam on stage with the house band. The club’s music list features dozens of songs made famous by acts from ABBA to Yes.

Styles – wearing a pair of novelty New Year’s Eve glasses – belted out Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and also played drums on a version of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.”

The clips were reportedly shot by New York-based photographer Grace Ahlbom.

In another clip, shared in an Instagram Story by pro skateboarder Sean Pablo, Styles is seen clearly loving another singer on the mic.

Styles has been spending quite a bit of time in Tokyo, as evidenced by the selfies fans have shared on social media and the gushing reviews of their encounters with the star – i.e. “he said [happy new year]  in Japanese!”

Some media outlets have reported that Styles is in Tokyo because he is dating Japanese-American model Kiko Mizuhara – which came as news to her. “I have no relationship with him, and I have never met him,” she tweeted on Jan. 13. “The world is full of fake news.”
