WATCH: Keith Urban Pays Tribute To Artists Lost In 2017
For the second year in a row, during his New Year’s Eve show in Nashville, Keith Urban paid tribute to the year’s lost music stars.
Opening with part of Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” (in honour of Chris Cornell), the country star’s medley included Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode,” Gregg Allman’s “Midnight Rider,” Glen Campbell’s “Wichita Lineman,” and Don Williams’ “Tulsa Time” as well as “Back in Black” for AC/DC’s Malcolm Young and “My Town” for Montgomery Gentry’s Troy Gentry.
The medley ended with “Free Fallin’,” in tribute to Tom Petty.
At the same event on New Year’s Eve in 2016, Urban performed a medley of songs by artists like Leonard Cohen, George Michael, David Bowie and Merle Haggard.
