Lorde and Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff covered “Run Away With Me,” the 2015 song from Canada’s Carly Rae Jepsen, during a charity event on Wednesday night.
The performance came during the fourth annual Ally Coalition fundraiser in New York City, an event that raises money for at-risk LGBT youth and to fight homelessness.
With Antonoff on piano, Lorde also sang her own songs “Green Light” and “Writer In The Dark.”
The New Zealand singer was heckled after she commented on how nice the audience was. “In Israel, they’re nice too!,” shouted someone in the crowd – a reference to Lorde’s decision to scrap a show in Tel Aviv in June.
Lorde responded: “We’ve raised a s**t-ton of money tonight. F*** that negativity.”
