Noel Gallagher appeared to tear up near the end of his performance at the reopening of Manchester Arena on Saturday night.
The former Oasis musician was one of several acts at the We Are Manchester concert, which raised funds for the Manchester Memorial Fund.
The popular concert venue had been shuttered in the wake of a terrorist attack in May that killed 22 people at an Ariana Grande concert.
Gallagher told the crowd the Oasis song “Don’t Look Back in Anger” became “some kind of anthem of defiance” following the tragedy.
“Every time you sing, we win,” he said, “so keep on singing.”
As her neared the end of the song — with the crowd singing along — Gallagher appeared to be emotional. In a video of the moment, he is seen apparently wiping tears from his eyes.
But in a shocking pair of tweets, Gallagher’s brother (and former Oasis bandmate) Liam Gallagher called it a “PR stunt.”
He claimed Noel “doesn't give a f**k.”
