Why did the Beatle cross the road? To get to Abbey Road Studios, of course.
Paul McCartney on Monday shared a video clip showing him casually walking across Abbey Road, as he famously did nearly five decades ago with bandmates John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
A crowd held back by barriers cheered as the rock legend revisited the now-iconic crosswalk. His daughter Mary reportedly shot the video, which ends with an over-zealous female fan chasing after the ex-Beatle.
McCartney, 76, was back at Abbey Road Studios to showcase songs from his new album Egypt Station, which comes out Sept. 7.
Iain Macmillan photographed the Beatles at the same crosswalk on Aug. 8, 1964 for the cover of their Abbey Road album, which was released a little more than a month later.
