Taylor Swift fans not only got her brand new album Lover on Thursday – they got a video for the title track.
The song was released last week as the fourth single from Swift’s seventh studio album.
“This album is very much a celebration of love, in all its complexity, coziness, and chaos,” Swift tweeted. “It’s the first album of mine that I’ve ever owned, and I couldn’t be more proud. I’m so excited.”
Appearing on GMA on Thursday, the pop star said she will re-record her early songs so Scott “Scooter” Braun can’t cash in on his purchase of her master recordings.
"My contract says that starting November 2020, so next year, I can record albums one through five all over again,” she said. “I’m very excited about it. I think artists deserve to own their work. I just feel very passionately about that.”
Swift will open the MTV Video Music Awards on Monday night.
