The Weeknd released a music video for “Reminder” Thursday (Feb. 16), and he has assembled a who’s who of hip hop for the star-studded visual. It features Drake, Nav, YG, Belly, A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Travis Scott, Metro Boomin and Bryson Tiller, among others.
Once the video launched, fans went into a frenzy trying to identify which rappers made cameos. As the video gains traction, fans are calling for a collaboration between fellow Canadians Drake and The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye.
Perhaps Drake was thinking along the same lines. Shortly after the video hit the web, the Toronto rapper took to Instagram to confirm a potential collaboration, posting an image of Tesfaye, Drake and a mystery man all with their faces scratched out. The caption reads: “OVOXO”, which is an amalgamation of Drake’s label, OVO, and The Weeknd’s, XO.
Does it mean they will be merging their labels? Or will they be releasing a collab? Those are all the details we have now, but it seems promising. Watch the video for “Reminder” below:
