Back to Fern Resort on Lake Couchiching
The NEWSTALK Summer Team is once again off and running, this time returning to Fern Resort just north of Orillia on Lake Couchiching. It's truly the ultimate family resort where mom and dad can relax while the little ones enjoy an amazing kids program with activities such as rock climbing, trampoline and plenty more.
For parents there's plenty to do with a spa, tennis courts and two gigantic heated pools with a Florida resort look including a tiki bar.

OK, elsewhere another busy weekend so lets go by regions to make planning a full day or weekend a little easier starting in Northern cottage country and Bracebridge for their annual and large Arts Crafts Summer Show..Muskoka's oldest and largest outdoor art show with over 200 Cdn artists from paintings to clothing and furniture through Sunday at Memorial Park.
Just around the corner it's the famous Port Carling Butter Tart Festival with a number of local and destination bakers and resorts participating Sat only from 10-5.
Orillia celebrates a tradition..Scottish Festival with all the traditional Celtic sounds of pipes and drums, Highland dancing, and parade of Pipes at noon on Saturday all at Couchiching Beach Park.
If you're into music, head to Kincardine for Lighthouse Blues Festival with 3 days of Blues and Jazz along with a street festival , 4 stages and vintage car shows.
Downtown Parry Sound will be busy with Art in the Park Festival..Main street will be hopin with side walk sales, and over 80 vendors at Market Square park.
Port Perry is running with it's 15th annual Dog Days of Scugog..Durhams largest dog event with agility courses, breeders, pups for sale and vendors, Sat and Sun 9-4 at the Museum.
Trenton has Festival on the Bay..sidewalk sales, live music, boat cruises, and the famous Trenton Dragon Boat Festival on Sat..there's fireworks Friday night.
Wasaga Beach is always busy but their annual Motorcycle rally makes the town extra busy with hundreds of bikes on display, beer gardens, free concerts and a Veterans Ride at Main Beach.
Heading west, there's another Scottish Festival but in Cambridge with all the Scottish traditions including cattle and beer tent, a Clan Parade Fri and Sat at Churchill Park.
Elora has music in the hills, 38th annual Festival with some of the worlds top musicians including every musical taste right downtown.
Grand Bend features the Stratford Spectacular..one of Ontarios most prestigious races along with some of the fastest cars in the world..jet to exotic at the Motorplex all weekend.
Guelph features it's Hillside Festival...over 50 performers, kids area and music, food bazzar, artisan market and plenty more at the Conservation area.
There's a couple Rib Fests..Kitchener with 7 ribbers at Vic Park all weekend along with Milton Rib Fest, part of the Northern Head Rib Tour at the Fairgrounds.
While in area, don't miss the Milton Summer Fair and Farm Expo along with the famous Super Pulls.
Orangeville also features a Rotary Ribfest with 6 ribbers and a Classic Car show on Saturday and midway all weekend with dog shows on Sunday.
Heading east to Cobourg, it's the annual Classic Antique and Car show, Sunday only at Vic Park open to cars 20 years and older supporting the Childrens Wish Foundation.
Ft Erie has the Friendship Festival,..a 3 week celebration kicking off with concerts, car shows, battle re enactments and plenty more at Peace Bridge Park.
Goderich has the annual Kinsmen Summerfest..an outdoor reunion with all sorts of family activities planned Friday and Saturday.
Fonthill, near Niagara has a Summerfest as well with a street festival, vendors and pancake breakfast on Sunday at Peace Park.
And closer to Toronto, in Brampton it's Carabram..multi cultural friendship festival with over 13 international pavillions featuring food, music, culture and displays all weekend right downtown.
Mississauga has another Rib Fest..12 international ribbers so it's a big one at Celebration Square all weekend.
Vaughan has something different..Pizza Fest with craft beer market, live music, main stage and 15 pizza companies participating at the Fairgrounds.
