Happy new year!
This is the first full weekend of 2017 and it's all about the snow...how about, 2 feet for Barrie and Collingwood on Wednesday and another two feet for Gravenhurst and parts of Muskoka.. mix that in with snow making and more snow then you can imagine...last weeks, mild spell did very little damage, and with this new snow we're back to machine groomed powder to the north and more granular/powder to the south...bases depths remain impressive, anywhere between 2-5 ft so no worries with the new boards...All resorts are open, running full operation both downhill and cross country. Anybody with lights is open and just a reminder for next Friday Jan 13th it's the annual Mash Bash at Snow Valley all in support of local hospital. Special lift tix prices and family games...
OK, as for this weekend anybody with lights is full operation and it's going to be all winter with some cold conditions. Let me give you a couple tips...wear the full insulated suit, layers underneath, extra liners in your gloves and a helmet for sure...not only keeps your head warm but could also save your life.
Take a few runs, then head into chalet for warming..boots off then head back out..it's winter, and we expect cold weather but this is our first real taste this season 40th annual..long celebration with all sorts of family activities throughout town.

Festival of Lights wind up this weekend in Niagara Falls, Owen Sound and Burlington along Lakeshore Drive.
