A Motorcyclist is Dead Following a Collision in Etobicoke
It's been a tragic start to the Thanksgiving long weekend for one Toronto family.
A man reportedly in his forties is dead after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car that may have been pulling into a plaza.
Police and paramedics were called to Scarlett Road and Hill Garden Road, south of Lawrence, in Etobicoke, just before 7 p.m. Friday night.
"Reports came in that a motorcyle and a car had crashed and that the motorcycle rider was laying in the roadway and that the injuries that the rider had suffered were very very serious."
Media Relations Officer, Constable David Hopkinson says EMS started CPR on the victim as soon as they arrived.
"We were planning on doing an emergency run with the paramedics, but the rider was pronounced a short time later, on scene."
The victim's name has not yet been released.
There's no word on whether the driver of the car could be facing any charges or if the driver failed to signal while making the turn into the plaza.
Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with video of the accident to come forward.
