Arrest made in connection with deadly stairwell shooting

Toronto Police have charged a 22-year-old man with first-degree murder in connection with a shooting that left one man dead in the stairwell of a Weston apartment building in December.

December 17, 2016 around 3 p.m. Kareem Hastings was found dead in the stairwell of a high-rise on Lawrence Avenue near Weston Road.

Police believe Hastings was shot sometime after midnight, but not found until the afternoon.

In a news release police announced Tuesday they arrested Toronto resident Kadeem Davis in connection with the shooting.

Davis is charged with first-degree murder.

Police continue to look for another suspect in the case.
