Arrest warrant issued for 8th suspect in Locke St. vandalism

An eighth person is now wanted by Hamilton Police following a destructive protest along the city's Locke Street earlier this year.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 27 year old Andrew Cadotte of London, Ont.

Investigators say they now have evidence that links the Anarchist Book Fair at Westdale Secondary School on March 3 and 4 to the mischief on Locke Street on the evening of the third.

The protest involved a group of about 30 people all dressed in black with face coverings, walking through Hamilton's downtown with a banner reading "we are the ungovernables."

The protesters set off fireworks, damaging vehicles, and threw rocks at store windows.

Cadotte is wanted for unlawful assembly while masked and mischief over $5,000.

Seven people have already been arrested in connection with the events.
