Burlington cab driver charged with sexual assault

A cab driver in Burlington, is facing a sex assault charge after an alleged incident involving a woman who had been a regular passenger.

Halton regional police say the alleged incident took place in late July at the woman's home.

Det. Sgt. Chris Newcombe says the 75-year-old man who was driving for Burlington Taxi allegedly showed unannounced up at the woman's apartment.

Newcombe says the woman let the man into her home as he had driven her several times in the past.

Police allege the man sexually assaulted her once inside.

The man now faces one count of sexual assault and is due in court in November.
