Cause of two-alarm fire in heritage home on Jarvis Street still a mystery
Still no word from fire investigators as to the cause of a two-alarm blaze that broke out just before midnight last night.
Crews were called to an old abandoned mansion at 314 Jarvis Street, at Carlton Street in Toronto.
The building was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.
There are reports that this is the third fire in the building this year and the fifth since 2015. The heritage home was built in 1865.
Hundreds of people in a neighbouring highrise and hotel had to be evacuated as a precaution. No one was hurt.
The investigation into what sparked the fire continues. The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in.
