Eye catching or offensive... Ontario rolls out new ad reminding women to get mammograms

It's something that would stop people from just scrolling through Instagram and that's what Ontario's health ministry was going for, but critics say it's just in poor taste to use a picture of a panini sandwich on a grill to promote getting regular mammograms.

PC MPP Lisa MacLeod was quoted as saying "I don't know who signed off on this.  It's insensitive.  Women being considered a piece of meat."

But Health Minister Eric Hoskins office defended the ad, saying it is meant to remind people of their health-care options.

His office sent a statement to the Toronto Sun saying the group of 11 ads depict real-life situations as reminders to people to arrange health-care procedures.

They said the idea is to normalize health-care procedures and help people feel more comfortable about getting help.
