Frost advisory issued for most of GTA

It's time to cover your outdoor plants, or take them inside.

With temperatures expected to dip into the low single digits on Saturday evening, Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for much of Southwestern Ontario.

While the city of Toronto and the southernmost areas of Oakville and Burlington are expected to remain warmer overnight, all other areas and regions in the Greater Toronto Area - including the city of Hamilton - are under the advisory.

Environment Canada says frost may damage some crops in areas that are prone to freezing.

It says frost is much less likely in areas closer to Lake Ontario.
