Metrolinx makes it cheaper for Presto card holders who ride both GO and TTC
Metrolinx is hoping a new Presto card discount will convince thousands of GTA commuters to get the green card.
The discount is for Presto card holders who transfer between the TTC, GO Transit and the UP Express.
Metrolinx says the discount is designed to help create a a more seamless transit system in the GTA.
Commuters using their Presto cards will pay $1.50 when they transfer from GO or UP Express to the TTC.
Those who use the TTC and get on GO transit will get $1.50 off their GO fare.
The discount is automatically applied, but is only available for Presto users who pay as they go with their card balance. Riders have to tap their Presto card to get the discount.
It is not available if you use cash, paper tickets, tokens, a Metropass or a monthly pass on a Presto card.
