Multiple searches organized for missing 30-year-old woman

Dozens of volunteers spent Sunday searching in numerous areas within a Toronto for a PhD student who went missing three days earlier.

Zabia Afzal, 30, of Vaughan, was last seen Thursday at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the Ashbridges Bay area, after having breakfast and speaking with her brother.

Afzal is known to frequent areas including Thorncliffe Park - where she is a volunteer - and the Scarborough Bluffs.

Friends say it's not within her normal behaviour to go without contact for this long.

Anyone who spots her is asked to call York Regional or Toronto Police, or Crime Stoppers.
