One suspect surrenders, one on the loose in Vaughan hookah lounge shooting

York Regional Police say one of two suspected gunmen in a shooting outside a hookah lounge in Vaughan has turned himself in.

19-year-old Rushawn Anderson went to police after his name and photo were shared on Tuesday. He faces a charge of attempted murder.

Police are still looking to charge 26-year-old Nicholas Rhoden with attempted murder. They are encouraging Rhoden, who police consider to be armed and dangerous, to speak with a lawyer and get in touch with them.

Three people were hit by bullets in the chaos outside Cameo Lounge, near Steeles Ave W and Weston Rd at about 2:40 a.m. Monday.

The most seriously hurt among them is Toronto-based rapper Robin Banks. His injuries were deemed to be life-threatening but he has been stabilized in hospital. Rapper Meek Mill, best known in Toronto for his feud with Drake and councillor Norm Kelly, was among those to extend well wishes to Banks online.
