Pedestrian killed by streetcar in Chinatown

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a streetcar in Chinatown.

Police say it happened at the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Sullivan Sttreet around 6 p.m. Friday.

The pedestrian was struck and became trapped under the streetcar.

The victim is a 65-year-old man.

His name hasn't been released.

"Our thoughts are with the victim and the victim's family as well as the operator," said Brad Ross, spokesperson for the TTC. "TTC are cooperating with police as they continue to investigate this tragedy."
