Police Have a Suspect in Custody Following a Stabbing in Scarborough

A teenage boy is fighting for his life in hospital after a stabbing near Eglinton East and McCowan Road in Scarborough.

Police and EMS were called to the scene just after 7 o'clock Friday evening.

"Upon arrival of police as well as EMS, he was found to have multiple stab wounds to his body," said Katrina Arrogante, media relations spokesperson for Toronto Police.

The victim was rushed to hospital by emergency run.  

Late tonight, Arrogante confirmed that police had a suspect in custody.

There's no update on the victim's condition, but police say he has undergone surgery.
