Police hunt woman who allegedly tried to abduct child

Toronto Police are looking for a woman who allegedly tried to abduct an 18-month-old child.

Police say it happened in the Yonge and Lawrence area on Saturday afternoon, just before 4 o'clock.

They say a woman approached the mom and asked fror directions, then asked to hold the baby.

She was refused.

But that's when the woman allegedly made attempts to grab the child. Police say the mom was assaulted and the woman took off.

She's described as approximately 40, 5'7", 130 lbs., thick black curly hair, She was wearing a pink puffy jacket, carrying a light-coloured purse.
