Police in Hamilton link weekend vandalism to Anarchist Book Fair

Hamilton Police have linked the vandalism on Locke and Aberdeen on the weekend to an Anarchist Book Fair that was happening at a local high school.

Around 100 thousand dollars in damage was caused when about 30 masked people broke windows and threw rocks at cars on Saturday night.

That book fair was being held at Westdale Secondary School.

Officers have also been able to determine the route that the group took, in their path of distruction.

Police are now asking for anyone who lives, or owns a business in a three block radius of that area, to review their surveilance video for any suspicious activity between 9:30 and 10:30 on Saturday night.

Officers are hoping to catch a glimpse of any of the individuals unmasked.

Police continue to encourage anyone who took part in the events on Saturday night, but may not agree with the group's actions, to contact police.
