Police investigating hundreds of cemetery thefts
Police in Peel and Durham regions are investigating after hundreds of metal vases were stolen from burial plots in Mississauga and Whitby.
Peel Police say there were more than 260 thefts from April through September at three different Mississauga cemeteries.
They believe the thief or thieves may be selling the vases as scrap metal and they're asking metal recyclers to keep an eye out for anything suspicious.
Meanwhile, Durham Police say someone stole over 100 brass vases from plots in Whitby last week.
They're asking anyone with information to come forward.
