Report: New math curriculum will be a return to the basics

The Toronto Sun reports that an overhaul of the elementary school math curriculum will take a back-to-basis approach.
A government source tells the paper that Discovery Math will be gone. Instead, students will go back to methods like memorizing times tables.
Education Minister Lisa Thompson is expected to lay out the new strategy in the days ahead.
Teachers will also get more math training.
The change over to the new curriculum is expected to take about four years.
