Ryerson student gunned down in driveway of family home

People who live on a residential street near Keele St. and Wilson Ave. were sent scrambling by the sound of gunfire on Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses in the North York neighbourhood say they heard as many as 7 gunshots at around 2:00pm.

It wasn't long after that the body of a young man was found in the driver's seat of a black Mercedes that was parked in the driveway of a home.

Someone who lives nearby claims to have seen two people in a grey car that took off not long after the shots went off.

The victim has been identified as 26-year old Ryerson University business student Roy Zamora.

He was gunned down in front of the home he shares with his mother.

So far, no description of the shooter has been released.

Zamora's death is Toronto's 85th murder of 2018.
