Several cars hit by bullets in east-end shooting

Toronto Police are investigating what appears to have been an overnight shootout along a resident street.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Friday on Walpole Avenue in the Greenwood and Gerrard area.

Several parked cars were hit and the street was left littered with bullet casings.

Reports from the scene suggest there were at least two different firearms used.

There was no victim at the scene but police say one man arrived in hospital with gunshot wounds.

His injuries are serious but he's expected to survive.
