Tanker rollover on 401 in Mississauga partially shuts down Highway

A tanker truck rollover on the 401 early Sunday morning forced a partial closure of the highway in Mississauga.

The rollover occurred on the Eastbound express lanes just past Mavis at around 4 a.m.

That forced oncoming traffic into the collector lanes through that stretch.

Later Sunday morning, the OPP confirmed via twitter that the tanker carrying 23 thousand litres of diesel fuel, spilled onto the highway.

No injuries were reported.

The OPP also confirmed that the closure would likely last until 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon for the cleanup.
