Teachers rail against Premier Ford, three weeks from back-to-school

We're approaching the time of year where you might be starting to think about back to school. This year, that might include wondering whether you'll be dealing with a teachers' strike.

We'll get a better sense this week about how contract negotiations are going.

The elementary teachers' union is expected to provide an update on Thursday but based on a union meeting last night, it's not looking good.

The message to Premier Doug Ford?

"My message is that he's really hurting the kids," one teacher told CTV News Toronto

Teachers are not happy with Provincial budget cuts and larger class sizes starting in September.

"Over the past year we have seen first hand that the priority of this government is not what's best for the people. It's all about the deficit," said Sam Hammond, president of the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario.

The first day of school is three weeks from today.
