Toronto police officer charged in May 2018 arrest

A Toronto police officer is facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm, in an arrest that happened back in May.

That's when a 48-year-old man was reported to have been disrupting traffic in the intersection of Danforth Ave and Warden.

Police were called and during that arrest, the man suffered a serious injury.

The province's Special Investigations Unit has found reasonable cause to charge Sgt Douglas Campbell with one count of assault causing bodily harm.

He'll be in court on October 25th.
