Tourist lured into a car and robbed

Yan Cedrick Mone

It's a trip he will never forget, for all the wrong reasons.

Toronto Police say a visitor from the U.S. was lured into a car, choked, pistol whipped and robbed.

Police say the man was partying on King Street West on Monday when he was approached by a stranger who started chatting with him.

The stranger invited him to another party in a different part of the city.

Police say they two got into the suspects car. They drove to another area and picked up two other men.

That's when police say the victim was choked from behind. Someone pulled a gun from the trunk and demanded the victim hand over everything he had.

The robbers took everything. Police say they used the victim's debit car to take money from his account. They took the keys to his vacation rental and even his clothing.

Police say the victim was held for two and a half hours before he was let go.

21-year-old Yan Cedrick Mone was arrested on Wednesday.
