Two women arrested in connection with Scarborough missing child case

Toronto Police say one woman has been charged with public mischief, another charged with obstructing a peace officer in a case involving a missing 6 year-old girl in the city.

The six-year-old girl was reported missing from the area of Midland Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East just after 7 a.m.

Police had been told she was located just before 1 p.m. in the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street.

Public mischief is a charge that usually means police think someone gave them a false report.

Obstructing an officer is generally tied to an alleged action that makes it hard for police to do their jobs

The woman are not being named to protect the privacy of the child so police have not confirmed how they are connected to this little girl

Both woman will eventually appear in court but the date has not yet been announced
