Two women seriously injured in two separate accidents Saturday morning
Toronto police are dealing with two separate traffic accidents in two different parts of the city that sent two women to hospital.
The first occurred just after 6 a.m. Saturday morning when a vehicle struck a parked car on Grennlawn Avenue near Rosemount Avenue, in the St. Clair and Dufferin area.
Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook confirmed to NEWSTALK1010 the female driver of the car was found unconscious and unresponsive.
" The female driver was located within that vehicle without vital signs and she has been taken to hospital."
Const. Cook added the condition of the woman is not currently known.
About a half hour later, a female pedestrian was struck in the east end of the city at Victoria Park and Crescent Town Road around 6:30 a.m. and according to Cook suffered life-threatening injuries.
"We're just awaiting an update. At this time of course it's being investigated."
The victim's updated condition is not known.
Access through the area has been closed to traffic. Northbound Victoria Park is closed, with southbound traffic being diverted as police investigate the circumstances of the incident.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman remained on scene.
