UPDATE: 5-7 cm of snow expected for Toronto

The Golden Horseshoe is waking up to a fresh blanket of snow.

Environment Canada senior meteorologist Mark Schuster expects Toronto to see 5-7 cm of snow piled up by the time snow tapers off around 9 a.m Monday.

But cities like Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton and parts of the Niagara region could see as much as 15 cm with snowfall lasting until about noon.

Schuster says travel conditions may not be great, but roads will not be as a congested because of the Family Day holiday.
