UPDATE: Police looking for 4 suspects in Rexdale murder

Toronto Police have identified the 36th homicide victim of the year as 34-year-old Awad Hurre.

Police say at 8:45 p.m. Saturday they were called to a shooting on Tandridge Crescent in the Albion Road and Elmhust Drive area.

Police and paramedics found a man on the ground in front of 75 Tandridge Crescent.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Hurre was ambushed by four suspects who were scene in a car on survelliance video.

Toronto police held  a Sunday afternoon press conference to further update the situation.

"We do not have a motive why he was targeted" according tp Detective sgt. Paul Warden, who added " I find it improbable that members of the community do not know why this happened."

As police continue searching for possible motive and leads, they are looking at the possibility this murder and the four suspects sought, may be linked to the deadly shooting of Jovane Clarke, who was gunned down at close range inside the Sheridan Mall on Thursday. For Warden, the circumstances appear more than coincidental.

"The manner in which both victims were killed was overkill. The way they positioned  themselves over the two victims was very similar, so we are looking into that. Both victims resided in the Tandridge Crescent area. Those are things we cannot overlook."
