UPDATE: Three people including two children killed in Brampton crash

Peel Police are appealing for witnesses following Saturday evening's two car collision in Brampton that claimed the lives of three people, including two children.

The accident, involving an SUV and a Corvette, occurred near the intersection of Highway 50 and Countryside Drive just after 9 p.m.

Peel Regional Police Const. Akhil Mooken confirmed to NEWSTALK1010 Sunday morning the three victims were a 47-year-old woman, a 7-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, all from Woodbridge. The woman was pronounced on scene, while the two children succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

In a news release Sunday afternoon, Peel Police confirmed a 45-year-old Caledon man, a 39-year-old Toronto woman and a 12-year-old girl from Woodbridge were treated for non-life threatening injuries in hospital.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident but they do not believe alcohol was a factor.

Anyone who has any information or dashcam footage of the area at the time of the accident is asked to contact Peel Police's Major Collision Bureau at (905) 453-2121, extension 3710.

Investigators say the names of the woman and children who died will not be released as requested by their families.
