UPDATE: Van involved in fatal hit-and-run possibly found in Brampton

Peel police say they are investigating a Nissan van that matches the description of the vehicle involved in this morning's hit-and-run.

A NEWSTALK 1010 listener says he called 911 after hearing the description of the vehicle, and spotting a van with no license plates on his street near Bramalea Rd and North Park Dr.

Police say they have seized the vehicle for further investigation, and to determine whether it is the van involved in the collision.

A 39-year-old cyclist was killed when he was struck and dragged by a trailer that became detached from a white Nissan NV cargo van. The driver took off.

The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Paul De Pledge from Brampton.
