WATCH: 90 drivers in 90 minutes cautioned for not pulling over
Do you know what to do when you see the flashing lights of an emergency vehicle?
It would seem, in Brampton, not many people do.
On Wednesday morning, emergency services personel were on Mississauga Road north of Steeles. A fire truck, an ambulance and a police cruiser were all parked on the shoulder with their lights flashing.
In just 90 minutes, 90 drivers were cautioned for not moving over or slowing down.
The highway traffic act states that drivers must either slow down, or move over if it's safe to do so, when there are emergency workers at a scene.
The effort was part of National Road Safety week, and crews in Peel Region say they'll be carrying out other blitzes in the future.
