WATCH: De Niro breaks ground on T.O. restaurant; blasts Trump again

Robert De Niro has taken another verbal shot at U.S. president Donald Trump, this time in Toronto.

The actor is in town today for the ground-breaking ceremony of Nobu, a world-renowned restaurant. This is the first location in Canada, and the first time they are including a hotel and condo in the project.

De Niro's comments come hot off of Sunday night's Tony Awards speech where he dropped an F-bomb, criticizing Trump.

As he stepped up to the podium near King and John Sts on Monday afternoon, De Niro started off with a short greeting. His speech, though, quickly turned political.

"And I just want to make a note of apology for the idiotic behaviour of my president," he told a cheering crowd. "It's a disgrace."

He also apologized to prime minister Justin Trudeau, who has been criticized by Trump on Twitter.

"It's disgusting," De Niro said.
