WATCH: MLSE claims Leafs season-ticket price hike will be good for fans

The price for Leafs season-tickets is going up, a move MLSE insists will be a good thing for fans.

Prices will rise by between $7 and $16 per ticket, per game.

MLSE says it took a look at the resale market and found resellers were sometimes getting almost twice the face value for tickets.

The company's chief commercial officer tells the Toronto Star that raising the retail price will eat into resellers profits, leading to fewer of them, and more seats available for fans.

Season-ticket renewals began Monday.
