WATCH: Police search for a suspect in a violent home invasion

Toronto Police say they're looking for one more suspect in a violent home invasion in February.

Officers provided an update on Wednesday.

It was on February 20th, police allege five people were involved in the invasion at a home near Yonge and Sheppard. Four of the five have been arrested.

Police say two men knocked on the victim's door, he opened it, and they rushed inside demanding money and jewelry. They say the victim was shot in the shoulder and stabbed in the head with a screwdriver. He survived.

Police say the suspects fled with jewelry and cash.

"This has nothing to do with drugs or gangs," said Hold Up Staff Inspector Mike Earl. "This is a home invasion of an innocent individual."

Earl believes the outstanding suspect is the most dangerous. "He's the one that we're alleging had the firearm. He's the individual that shot the victim."

Police believe the invasion may be connected to a similar one in Kingston earlier in February.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7350 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
