He lashed out at General Motors, but directed an equal amount of anger towards Premier Doug Ford.
In a speech broadcast live from Unifor's Ontario Regional Council meetings Saturday, national union president Jerry Dias spoke of Ford's dismissal of Bill 148 as a devastating move backwards for the province.
He also touched on the topic of women impacted by domestic violence, families who will be spending their Christmas Eve in shelters and the rise of precarious work.
The ORC comes just days after General Motors announced it plans to cut 14,000 workers and possibly shutting down five North American factories, including the plant in Oshawa, as part of a massive restructuring.
After dismissing Ford’s complaint that he shared the Premier’s personal cell number to his members - something he says he never did - he played one of the many angry messages left on his phone.
“He put it out on social media knowing that I never did it,” Dias said. “You know Doug ... F*** you.”
