What's open and closed on New Year's Day

Lots of things to do on New Year's Day, but there are some closures to be aware of.

LCBO and Beer store locations are open New Year's Eve, but closed January 1st.

Libraries, government offices and indoor skating rinks will also have their doors shut.

Most grocery stores will be open, but check to see if there are different hours.

Movie theatres, most malls and major tourist attractions including the Toronto Zoo are open on January 1st.

The TTC and GO transit and the UP Express will all be free after 7 p.m. December 31st.
