Where is Zhebin Cong? Signs point to China
We still don't know where Zhebin Cong went when he disappeared from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and boarded a plane.
But, there are new clues that suggest there's a good chance he fled to China.
Cong's psychiatric records reportedly show he was born in China and immigrated to Canada in 2010. His mother still lives there and Cong was reportedly in touch with her on a regular basis.
The records show he was intent on going back. Reports suggest he did not speak much English and said language classes would be no use to him when he went home.
It's still not clear how Cong managed to get a passport, which he would have needed to board a plane.
The National Post reports his psychiatric team had worked to get him official documents in order to enrol him in English classes.
It's not clear whether they ever received the identification or whether those documents helped Cong flee the country.
Cong was found not criminally responsible for the killing of his roommate in 2014.
