Big Papi Flown Back to Boston

A spokesperson for David Ortiz says the shooting of the longtime Red Sox slugger was the act of hitmen.

Leo Lopez told reporters in Santo Domingo on Monday night that the shooting on Sunday was not a robbery and was "no doubt" an act of hitmen.

Ortiz is now being treated at a hospital in Boston.

The 43-year-old 10-time MLB All-Star was flown to Boston Monday afternoon on a plane provided by the Red Sox.

Ortiz underwent surgery after the shooting and his gall bladder and part of his intestine were removed - his liver was also damaged.
