Christina Aguilera Celebrates 20th Anniversary Of Debut Album
Christina Aguilera is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album with a trio of special editions.
The 38-year-old singer tweeted on Tuesday that she’s releasing “xxtra special versions … and more surprises” on Aug. 23. Aguilera asked fans to share memories of the original album using hashtag #XXtina.
Christina Aguilera, which came out on Aug. 24, 1999, included the hits “Genie in a Bottle” and “What a Girl Wants.” The former earned Aguilera a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance – and she won Best New Artist.
The anniversary digital edition of the album features rare versions, remixes and a cappella tracks. At Aguilera’s online store, fans can buy a bundle that includes a vinyl picture disc with an autographed Certificate of Authenticity, a cassette and anniversary merch. A “Genie Fiery Orange Vinyl” edition will also be available.
Aguilera has released seven studio albums since her debut, including last year's Liberation.
